CRASH (any gender, late teens on up)
With all due respect, doctor, I don’t need you, I need the police. Please, turn around. Look at me. I’m not crazy. You’ll see it in my eyes. Can you please just turn arou-
[pause]
You.
[long pause]
Alright then. I give up. I think I knew you’d appear. The doctor’s not even here anymore, is he? I’m not just seeing things. When he swiveled away from me you actually took him over. Is that right?
Why have you been following me? I just want to start fresh. Fresh town, fresh people, fresh job. Are you trying to scare me into going back home? I won’t be happy there, you’ve got to understand that. Ever since the crash, everybody’s treated me like I’m some kind of noise they just want to turn off. The crash wasn’t even my fault; I was in the back seat. It was my stupid friends-
I shouldn’t call them stupid. It’s wrong to speak ill of the dead, I know.
But I won’t take the blame. I didn’t kill my friends. The only thing I did was survive. I just survived.
Didn’t I?
