For this one, you must get out of taking a deadly test from a dragon.
THE TEST (any gender, mid to late teens)
Sir, I simply do not see the meaning. Everything amounts to this one test? All of my young life, I have served this village as a healer. I have worked tirelessly to develop my methods. I've cured countless illnesses, delivered and blessed tens of children... I'm even tending to your ailing son... lest we forget.
But according to custom, that is all meaningless unless I take the test. Despite all the ways I can serve this village, I will never be accepted after my 18th birthday... unless I take the test. Why does the test make me an adult? I've seen many a youth go to the mountain... they pass the test and they come back just as immature as when they left.
Yes, I confess: I am afraid. If I were to go to the mountain and face the dragon, I am afraid I will fail. The dragon will breathe the fire, my confidence will fail and my flesh will weaken. I will begin to burn and I will be devoured. Possibly.
But you are right. That might not be the case. You and the villagers have all told me that I have so much virtue... of COURSE I will survive the flame. You are all so sure.
But sir, I defy this test. If you send me up to the mountain, I will provoke the dragon and earn an instant death. And your village will be without a healer. Your son may never have the chance to grow up... to grow up and take this cursed test, himself one day.
Think on it: my life, thus far... is it worth your custom? I await your judgement.
