STRIKE ONE (any gender, early twenties to early forties)
[gasping breath out, gulp, gasping breath in]
Sandy!
[gasping breath]
It's me. It's Alex.
[gasping breath]
I know you can see me, I'm looking right into the camera.
[quick breath]
They broke into my place and it won't take them long to catch up to me.
[breath, breath]
You were right, okay? The neighborhood was a nightmare. My security system was crap.
[gulp]
I'm sorry I made fun of you. You spent your money more wisely, I see that now. Can you please buzz me in? There's no way they'll break into this place, not before the cops show up.
[breath]
Sandy come on, we're family. We were family, okay. Is it really too late to start over. 'Cause in, like three minutes, we'll probably never know. Do I have to be dead for you to feel better?
